The Maestro series of office furniture
September 24th, 2009 by Mike

The Maestro range of office furniture manufactured by Dams International is probably the most successful ranges of business furniture ever produced. This popularity is based upon a winning combination of Maestro offering excellent value, Maestro products are extremely dureable and functional, and Maestro offers many modular furniture items. Maestro is the ideal product range for both cost conscious firms or the home office furniture buyer.

Maestro desks come in just three basic designs (L shaped, wave and rectangular desks) each in a choice of sizes and a straight choice of leg designs from wooden panel end and a grey powder coated metal cantilever design. In previous years Maestro furniture has been sold in several different melamine faced wood finishes. The 2008 range has been limited to either beech or oak woodgrain effect finish, though the cherry finish and light grey furniture has only recently been discontinued and for certain products residual stocks might possibly be available. A few years ago Meastro range did get sold in white though it could never be ordered as a fashionable black office furniture range.

If there is any drawback to using Maestro office furniture, it is the fact that it is constructed from 18mm MFC wood effect board which could be deemed to be a little too inexpensive when impression counts with external visitors, though it’s hard wearing strength and durability should not be in doubt despite its low cost. The business office furniture market has leaned firmly in favour of 25mm furniture ranges over the last few years which usually looks much better quality. A good compromise as an upgrade from Maestro is the Maestro 25 range (also known as M25 furniture).

Maestro 25 desks are only around 10% or 15% more costly than Maestro desks, but aesthetically they look a far superior quality and give a more positive impression. The two furniture ranges can be installed in the same office and will not look out of place. A key thing to note is that M25 desks only come in standard metric sizes (800mm deep and metric widths like 1200mm, 1400mm, 1600mm etc.) whereas Maestro desks comes in unusual depths and widths (746mm deep and widths like 1228mm, 1532mm, 1778mm etc.) The range mismatch is only an issue if you intend to add a Maestro 25 desk onto a cluster of 18mm Maestro desks.
