No one wants skin that is full of blemishes and scars. Unfortunately, some of these are unavoidable. You can get into accidents and form scars once the wound has healed. But accidents can be lessened especially if you are careful. Stretch marks on the other hand, are scars that are almost always unavoidable as these are natural consequences as one grows up.
Stretch marks are almost always unavoidable as these are natural consequences when one grows up quickly during puberty. The body grows in size quickly, while the skin is not able to cope with this fast increase in size. When this happens, the dermal layer of the skin can tear due to excessive stretching, and this will result in the formation of stretch marks.
Aside from puberty where the body quickly grows in height and size, another period in life a great increase in size occurs is during pregnancy. Within a matter of months, a female’s body will grow to accommodate the baby and this causes excessive stretching of the skin. Together with the hormonal changes in the body, these factors will contribute to the formation of stretch marks.
Scars were once thought to be permanent marks on the body. But with the advances in technology, there have been many ways developed to remove scars and other blemishes that can make the skin look ugly. You won’t have to keep hiding these scars using clothes or makeup anymore.
One of the best and most expensive ways to get rid of scars is by undergoing laser surgery. This works by burning away the old cells that have accumulated over the scar. Upon removing these cells, the scar is removed and this can be replaced by new cells that regenerate to replace the space left by the older cells. Dermabrasion on the other hand, uses sanding to get rid of scars. It removes the outermost layer of the skin to remove any traces of the scar.
Another way to get rid of scars is through the use of scar removal creams. These have exfoliating effects to remove old cells that have built up on the scar. It also has some cell regenerating factors which stimulate cell division so that the older cells that were removed can be replaced. But some caution must be taken when using such creams as these are usually made from synthetic chemicals that may have some adverse effects on the body if too much is able to accumulate.
The use of cocoa butter on the other hand, is much safer especially if you are pregnant. This can be applied on the belly as well as the breasts and thighs to help the skin cope with the fast growth of these parts of your body. Eating the right kinds of food will also help in providing the skin with the nutrients that it needs to stay elastic and prevent stretch marks from forming.
The many techniques in removing stretch marks will help you have the flawless skin that you have always desired. Using preventive measures especially during pregnancy will also go a long way in reducing costs, compared to undergoing procedures to get rid of the scars.
