With the launch of the new Apple slate due to be announced for the holidays, there is plenty of speculation about Apples latest desirable creation. With the fantastic marketing that came with the ipod and the iphone, creating superior brand recognition that there closest rivals have only be able to dream about. I mean, you never hear people refer to their ipod as an mp3 player, in the same way, you never hear people refer to their Iphone as a mobile phone.
Apple have managed their marketing well to achieve this use of the brand name to replace what the item really is. This is comparable to Bacardi becoming the brand name for the white rum beverage, so many other companies have tried and failed at this extremely clever marketing technique.
So with the launch of the new Apple Slate almost here, you can be sure the bookmakers will not be offering very high odds on people calling their new Slate an Apple Laptop in twelve months time. It is a dead certain fact that this new Apple product is going to be referred to as my Slate and nothing else.
Another fact that is certain will be the price, you can be sure that a premium product from Apple will hold a premium price. Just as with the ipod and the iPhone, you will see stand alone products made just for the Slate, such as Slate Insurance at http://slateinsurance.net, rather than laptop insurance, in the same way that iphone insurance appeared for the iphone, rather than being called phone insurance.
Along with Slate Insurance, I am sure we will see Slate bags and slate cases being sold rather than laptop bags and cases.
The big question about the slate is when it comes out rather than if, along with what will the price tag be along with the specification, and will there be more than one specification option for the new desirable offering from Apple.
