Creative Unique and Practical Baby Gift Baskets For Your Next Baby Shower
September 5th, 2009 by Mike

Being asked to attend to a baby shower celebration can provoke your creative aptitude and foresight. It’s calm enough to simply examine cursorily the online catalogs and buy the cutest item on your dear baby accessories web store, but there are certain things you have to consider before deciding on new baby gifts to bring to the blowout baby shower.

The baby’s gender- Ask the parents-to-be if they already know the gender of their baby. If they’re unsure, it’s best to bring baby gift baskets in ‘gender neutral’ colors such as yellow, green and red.

Baby registry – Inquire if the expectant mom created a wish list in the local department store. A pregnant woman lists the gifts she would like to receive for her baby and submits this list to a local department store or to a baby gift shop online. You can look at the items on her wish list and check which ones have been taken off so you don’t end up giving a corresponding gift.

Being told that your gift is unbelievable or just what the baby needs can be heart-warming. How can you make sure your gift is exactly what the expectant parents want? Here are some recommendations:

1. The one-of-a-kind gift

The secret to giving unique baby gifts is investigation. As long as you know what features to look for in a baby accessory or a toy, you can concentrate on looking for the best design. If a particular brand has several models of the same accessory, choose the one with the most unique design and the most tasteful color combinations.

2. Function

A cute gift is great! However, you must choose one that the baby can actually use. For instance, instead of giving an ordinary photo album, why not get a photo frame that can accommodate digital photos?

You can also give onesies that can be worn all year long, such as baby pants that can easily be converted into shorts; or over-alls that can also double as a jumper ensemble. Give something that the baby can use for a few years. This means giving clothes that will fit until the baby’s a year old, and toys that can stimulate a baby’s growing mind. Come to think of it, a gift that has no function other than to stimulate a baby’s mind is a great gift for a newborn.

3. Personalized baby gifts

If you want to give something that will really make an impact, personalize the gift by engraving the baby’s name on it. Or many online retail stores will personalize the item for you and ship it directly to the new parents. You just have to ask the parents to write down the name they have chosen for their baby. Make sure you get the spelling right.

You can also give something that will represent the ‘ambition’ the parents have for their son or daughter. For instance, the child’s parents are both doctors, it’s pretty obvious that his or her parents would want their child to enter the medical concern as well. You can choose a miniature stethoscope for a gift or other applicable gift.
