I don’t believe that there is a person in the world that wants to experience a panic attack. But unfortunately, it happens to almost everyone at some point in their lives and without the right knowledge they may take over their life completely. So in order to help stop anxiety attacks from ever happening to you, ask yourself these 5 questions:
1. Do you have too many responsibilities piling up?
Stress is oftentimes the main cause for panic attacks occurring. Putting too much pressure on yourself by taking on too many responsibilities at one time can really take a toll on you. You should try to spread out the amount of responsibilities that you take on. Most often people actually find that they are far more productive at tasks when there is not so much stress and they work more efficiently.
2. Can you use some extra help?
It is perfectly fine to ask for help once in a while. It does not matter what it is that you need help with… ask. Most friends and family members will help you do just about anything if you simply asked for the help. Do not let your pride stand in your way of asking for a hand. Take some of the weight off of your shoulders and let someone help out.
3. Do you have someone that offers emotional support to you?
Emotional support is important for everyone. It helps ensure that we are doing alright and that we are on the right path. Daily life can throw a lot of stress at us that can be really difficult to handle at times. It is important to have somebody you can talk to when times are hard. In an effort to help reduce your panic attacks, make sure that you have someone that you can turn to for emotional guidance.
4. Is fun in your agenda?
It is important that you take some time for yourself no matter how busy your schedule gets. You may be carrying around a great deal of pressure and stress indie you and loosening up and having some fun can be a great way to release that bottled up pressure. Just find something that you enjoy to do that will help you take your mind off of the daily “stresses” for a while.
5. Are you caring for your physical health?
The final question you need to ask yourself in order to stop anxiety attacks from becoming a frequent problem in your life is whether or not you are taking care of your body. This entails getting enough sleep, exercising three to four times a week, eating right, and having some fun. While you certainly need to get your work done, taking care of your body is even more important.
