Getting it Right - Running Shoes that Function
Oct 28th, 2009 by Mike

Most athletes spend little time picking out a good shoe, even knowing how important it is. With so many running shoes on the market it can be confusing to know exactly what to look for when researching shoes. Yes, it would be wonderful to purchase a shoe that is not only comfortable, but you can use for 200 miles without costing a king’s ransom. The best running shoe doesn’t have to cost a fortune. The shoe shouldn’t cause any pain.

Jogging shoes are like a http://www.razorkiddiekickscooter.com/ the most important piece of equipment that a runners owns. They help avoid injury and they help the running be more efficient. Millions of dollars go into running shoes and the better jogging shoe manufacturers sink a lot of their profits into the technology and science of those feet protectors.

Ask 10 runners and get 10 answers, but I believe the best are…… Nike, Pumas and Adidas. This is from my own running with these shoes and I’m happy as I was with my Razor A2 scooter. If you get a good Brooks or Asics shoe, they will have good support in the ankle and cushiony throughout. No cushion with the Puma, unfortunately. Yes Pumas are light and feel so good to wear. Go with the Brooks or the ASICS and you won’t be sorry. But it all depends on what kind of shoe fits you best and is most comfortable.  Truthfully, I have yet to find a better shoe than Brooks or Asics. For starters, try the best shoes, then work down to what works best on your foot.

Get a shoe that isn’t right for you and you will pay for it down the road. If you’re just getting started in jogging, this is essential. People get discouraged from jogging simply with a bad shoe that they paid little for. Don’t worry about getting something extravagant, start good and protect your feet.

The first place to go is to an outlet that deals only in in jogging shoes. Advise the salesperson of the type of distance running, the frequency of your running, and whether you run on concrete, track field, etc. The salesperson should check out the shape and arch of your foot. This is how your foot type of determined like the Kiddie Kick Scooter. The shoe for you is based entirely on the arch measurement and other factors.

It doesn’t pay to start buying good looking shoe, you have to have something that really supports your arch and feet. There are a few different running shoes: straight, curved, and semi-curved. To find out which type your foot is, take the wet test: put your foot in water and then stand up on any surface that will leave an imprint of your foot. See the imprint? Now you know what type of arch you have - flat or high or normal.

Crazy as it seems, many people are thinking that running without any shoes at all is good for the feet. This has runners shucking off their high-tech trainers in favor of naked feet — or minimalist footwear like Newton All-Weather Trainer, the Nike Free and the glove-like Vibram FiveFingers.

And who said that shoes prevent injuries anyway?  Do they really?  They really haven’t done anything since they were invented. Some smaller, earlier studies suggest that running in shoes may increase the risk of plantar fasciitis, ankle sprains and other injuries. Runners who wear cheap running shoes have fewer injuries than those wearing expensive trainers. Meanwhile, injuries plague 20 to 80 percent of regular runners every year.

Testing for Dyslexia in School-age Children
Oct 28th, 2009 by Mike

Most of the history of dyslexia has been compressed into the last 25 years. Before that the condition was practically unknown.

Dyslexics learn differently. Their eyes see the same but their brains interpret the signals from the eyes differently than those of non-dyslexics. It’s O.K., many famous people have been dyslexic. But to reach full potential they need to be taught differently, according to their needs.

For a little over 15 years now, elementary schools have routinely screened for learning disabilities dyslexia. Any child who had problems with reading was selected to go through full-scale professional testing for dyslexia followed by individual evaluation.

Those who went through grade school more than 15 years ago almost all bear the scars of being hammered into molds that did not fit. They were ridiculed for their differences, looked at as retarded (which most are definitely not!), slow learners, etc. They were embarrassed and learn to hide their differences.

Millions of adult dyslexics today have never taken a dyslexia test. They still struggle with learning and reading difficulties that could be easily overcome if they were only known. A half-hour dyslexia test could make enormous improvements in their self-esteem and abilities.

One of the problems in helping dyslexics is that there are many different types of dyslexia. Dyslexia takes many different forms; all dyslexics are different. They cannot be readily sorted into categories and then treated the same as a group.

Dyslexia testing is not difficult or expensive or time-consuming. There is an excellent online test available now that can be done in half an hour from any place there is an Internet connection. If there is any possibility that a person might be dyslexic, they can find out for less than the cost of a visit to their Doctor or Dentist!

You can just click on any link in this blog posting to get more information…

The Dangers of getting the wrong Firming Face Cream!
Oct 28th, 2009 by Mike

At first you might find yourself thinking, ‘the dangers of getting my hands (or my Face) on the wrong firming face cream? What it the world could be so bad about that? What’s the worst thing that could happen? You mean I look all puffy like I took in way too much soy sauce at the Sushi bar last night (I love Sushi, can’t stand the effect of too much high sodium soy sauce the next morning making my eyes all puffy). Or do you mean that somehow instead of having a bad hair day I might somehow have a bad face day instead?

No, none of the above. What I am referring  to is the facts that cancer and so many other diseases are not just on the rise but that they are near epidemic proportions. Certain forms of Cancer up as much as 3,000% since 1950. Heck I wish my investments had gone up that much, I’d be stinkin rich. Think about it. What have been some of the biggest changes during this massive rise in disease?  Well yes pollution has gone up in a big way that’s for sure. But the biggest rise in any forms of contaminants have been chemicals. In 1950 there were approximately 200 chemicals in use in your Facial care, Body care, and hair care products. Today there are more than 7,000. That’s an increase of monumental proportions wouldn’t you agree?

This is a very valid  and compelling reason to ensure that your firming face cream is not only just 100% natural, but that it is also free from toxic chemicals. How in the world do you make sure that not only your firming face cream but that all of your health and beauty aids (H.A.B.A) or body care is 100% free from toxic chemicals like petroleum distillates? Well you need a list of all of the dirty laundry list for all of the toxic chemical nightmare soup that infiltrates all your products your currently using that’s how.

Car Insurance For Your Business
Oct 27th, 2009 by Mike

Businesses are not easy to run, and there are usually all sorts of costs and expenses every month. This includes the maintenance and upkeep of the company’s vehicles, be it for delivery trucks or company cars for employees, these vehicles will need to be looked after. An important part of the monthly expense of caring for these cars is the insurance. It is imperative that the company’s vehicles are protected by a valid insurance policy, to ensure that money is saved should something happen, such as theft or a collision.

There are many motor insurance companies that specialize specifically in car insurance for businesses. Most regular insurance companies will also usually have a coverage option especially for businesses. You could be discounted for insuring more than one vehicle under the same insurance company. Another easy way to lower your premium is to house all your company’s insurance needs with one insurance place. When you are looking for insurance for your company’s fleet, the best thing you can do is to shop around and obtain as many quotes as possible.

You need to carefully consider who will be the designated drivers on your policies. If some of the vehicles are being assigned to certain employees, you can put them as designated drivers on the policy for the vehicle. It is important that you clarify details with your car insurance company about business car insurance, as sometimes there are certain regulations and clauses that will allow you to insure just the vehicle itself, with anyone driving it.

The most important thing for the business is to keep costs as low as possible. You may find that you can get a lower premium for insuring a few vehicles with the same company. Installing alarm systems and trackers on your fleet will also lower the theft risk and therefore the price of the premium.

The Income Tax Return Filing
Oct 27th, 2009 by Mike

What is the income tax return? Each spring we file federal and state income tax returns. We have gotten used to filing our taxes, paying them, and getting our tax refund, but somehow the term “tax return” is not always clearly understood.

The annual process begins in January through March of every year when wage earners receive their wage and tax withholding statement from their employers. Those in school will receive statements of tuition, scholarship, and aid information covering the previous year. An income tax return form is then used to take the amount of earnings and calculate the correct dollar amount of taxes for which the individual is liable.

Although a person filing the papers detailing earnings, deductions, and taxes may have some or all of their withheld taxes returned to them, that is not what is meant by the term “income tax return”. Actually, what “tax return” refers to is three parted. First, you are letting the government know, or are returning a report on, how much you made in the previous year. Next you are stating how much you have paid in taxes, up till the end of the year. Finally, the return details how much income tax is your responsibility.

So in going through this tax return process many people show that they have overpaid their income tax and therefore have a refund coming. The alternative is of course, that there was not enough money withheld, or that the quarterly payments did not fully cover and now there is a payment due.

To summarize, the phrase “income tax return” is referring to the document that you fill out and send to the IRS and to your state tax department.

Tips for Buying Kid Motor Scooter
Oct 26th, 2009 by Mike

Children scooters have become known as one of the biggest and most popular crazes and are an awfully fun toy for youngsters. There are a lot of different electrical scooters on the market, but some are better suited than others for kids. There are essentially two different types of electric models to choose from. There is the stand-up type and there is the seated type. A very fashionable electric scooters for kids model is the Razor e200 scooter.

One common question that comes up during the purchasing process is deciding what scooters are best for what age group. The general rule is that if your child is between six and twelve years old, then a kick-style stand-up scooter may well be best. If your child is older, then you may be best off buying an electric-powered scooter. You should always consider any local laws that may be valid in your city.

Most first-class electric scooters for kids are designed to hold up to about 200 pounds. Lots of electric scooters will average speeds of around 10-15 miles an hour and are very safe toys. Since these scooters are designed for kids, most do not go faster than about 15 miles per hour. The scooter’s speed is also somewhat determined by the quality of the batteries and the amount of pressure in the tires.

It is as well a smart idea to make sure that there is an adequate warranty and a spare wheel and tire, since these may break. It would be a smart idea to begin looking on the Internet on some price comparison sites where you can see a large collection of models and hopefully get a better deal of what’s on the market.
